We are accepting applications for volunteer opportunities. People interested in volunteering must agree to a "social background check" and must be open to giving 4 or more hours a month:
Relief Shop Positions:
Shopping Assistant: be present to give boxes/bags to shoppers, help people find items they need, and schedule clients for future appointments.
Appointment Setter: be available to help people who contact our social media page or call to set a shopping appointment. (smartphone required)
Restock/Organizer: replenish store before/after shoppers have been helped, folding or hanging clothing, removing empty hangers from clothing racks and keeping the shopping box/bag area neat/presentable
Interior Design: helping to create new and effective ways to display the shop, hanging up shelves, moving furniture and taking photos.
Awareness: going to various areas of town to hand out flyers, giving presentations/FAQ sesions to small groups to spread awareness of our programs and holding signs during fundraisers and events
Cleaning: vacuuming the shop before/after clients arrive, use air cleanser to freshen up the shopping area, using canned air to keep dust off of items and tables and taking unusable items to the dumpster
Inventory: organizing and labeling donations so they can be easily accessed and accounted for, filling out donation receipts, putting boxes together for items to be stored and rotating inventory so items do not sit unused
Hot Meal Positions:
Grocery Shopper: going to get supplies needed for the meal program, finding coupons or other resources that help cut down on cost of supplies, going to pantries/pop-up giveaways to get produce and meats and placing orders for groceries to be delivered or ready for pickup at the store.
Food Prep: chopping, dicing, cutting, mixing and seasoning meats and produce, storing and labeling prepped items for use the next day, packaging meals to-go and being comfortable using knives and food prep equipment.
Cleaning: washing & drying dishes, utensils and large pots and pans, sweeping and mopping the floor, sanitizing tables and workstations, taking out garbage and sanitizing kitchen counters and appliances.
Taste Testers: be willing to taste meals for quality assurance/control, be available to try new menu items and give feedback, prepare and handout recipe cards to clients and be interviewed to speak about the menu items and recipes
on socal media. (PARTICIPANTS MUST STATE ANY FOOD ALLERGIES THEY HAVE)
